Q104 has joined the Greater Cleveland Food Bank in the fight against hunger by starting a Virtual Food Drive! You can help us reach our fundraising goal by donating to our page and sharing with family and friends. During the summer months, childhood hunger is prevalent and we want to make sure that no kids in our area go hungry this summer.
Be a Q104 Hunger Hero and help us raise 40,000 meals in 40 days for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank!
During this pandemic, the Greater Cleveland Food Bank has been providing twice as many weekend food backpacks as it normally does for children in it's service area. It is also serving triple the number of young families (with children younger than 12 years old) who are food insecure compared to the great recession of 2008 - and the need is only expected to grow. Kids in our are need your help now more than ever. Will you be a Hunger Hero?
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank works to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. They do this by distributing food to nearly 1,000 local food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, programs for the elderly, and other nonprofit agencies. The Food Bank also prepares nutritious meals in their on-site kitchen and assists eligible low income Northeast Ohioans with signing up for the SNAP program. In total, the Food Bank serve more than 300,000 people each year.
Throughout Northeast Ohio, one in six people are food insecure – meaning they may not know where their next meal will come from. Your support will help alleviate this uncertainty. Every dollar that we raise will help provide four meals for our neighbors in need!
