As social workers, counselors and mental health providers, we know that hunger isn?t a personal failure ? it?s a policy failure. With cuts to SNAP benefits, families who were already stretching every dollar will soon be asked to do the impossible: feed their families with even less support.

That?s why we?re organizing Food & Diaper Drives in our offices. We're also collecting financial contributions to benefit the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to maximize our reach and ensure every contribution goes directly toward feeding and supporting families in need.

While we advocate for systemic change, we also believe in community care and taking immediate, tangible action to care for our neighbors.

More about GCFB: The Greater Cleveland Food Bank works to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. They do this by distributing food to over 1,000 local food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, programs for the elderly, and other nonprofit agencies. The Food Bank also prepares nutritious meals in their on-site kitchen and assists eligible low income Northeast Ohioans with signing up for the SNAP program. In total, the Food Bank serves more than 424,000 people each year.

Throughout Northeast Ohio, one in seven people are food insecure ? meaning they may not know where their next meal will come from. Your support will help alleviate this uncertainty. Every dollar that we raise will help provide three meals for our neighbors in need!
